Hi Guys,

Its been exactly a week since my MMA. I can't believe what a difference the last two days have made. My face was the size of a balloon, I could not recognize myself and my 13 yr old called me a monkey (actually "his" monkey).

Today I can honestly say that my swelling is down 80%, I can see myself and even my son says that I look like the old daddy (he prefaced it with "almost"). I have gotten off Demerol, I did not even "Zonk" out with 4 hour intervals of Oxycodone. I truly believe I turned a corner and I am hoping (though ready) that the days are going to be better and better.

While my memories are fresh, I wrote up a blog, mostly for myself. I did try to put everything I learnt from the recent experience as well, so that it is generally useful.

I know I learnt something from every blog I read. I will post an occasional update there.

Again I want to acknowledge the role of this group. I could not have done without you. So many supported me when I basically caved and was beating myself on going ahead with the surgery. I am not even going to bother trying to mention everyone, but trust me that everyone of you is special.

Thank you for telling me again and again that it was going to get better.
