Although I would otherwise like to have my surgery done by him, the costs of the surgery are rather steep for me and are out-of-network for my insurer. My insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP, has suggested doctors at UCSF who are in-network. Has anyone had any experience exploring or having MMA surgery at UCSF? Are there any surgeons there that you would recommend? Also, any general thoughts on how people decided upon their doctor over others would be appreciated. For example, I know there are probably a fair number of people out there who debated using Dr. Li, perhaps wrangled with the cost issues like me, and but decided to go with him anyway. I would be interested in hearing about your thought process during that time (and after the surgery). Thank you so much.
