Remember, we are talking about insurance, not healthcare. If a person goes into an emergency room with a broken leg in the US, they get treated - the doctor can't even ask if they are a legal citizen.

Yes, insurance companies will fight often, but the government will fight too when they run it. These forums will just be filled with complaints about the government.

If healthcare insurance is "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness", then so is food and housing. There's just no way to carry the "right" argument to it's logical conclusion.

The sad fact is, those that are for this system think it's going to cost them less but in reality it will cost them more and the care will be less. The bottom line is that health care is expensive and most people do not like the idea of budgeting the full price.
