Thanks Western Joe, Learian and Godfather. Yesterday sleepyhead (my surgery mate) and I went to restaurant and had Butternut Squash ravioli to celebrate the removal of arch-bars.
At this point of recovery, I seem to have 3 residual issues:
1. Lacerations inside my gums and lower jaw after removal of arch-bars. There is one particular one which is about 5mm * 5mm which is a bit troublesome. Sleepyhead and Dr. DS suggested that I use biotene, hydrogen peroxide and salt-water rinses twice a day. Seems to have gotten much better in the last couple of days.
2. Swelling and loss of feeling in the cheek and lower chin area. This is almost as if I had a mild stroke and am recovering from it. This has been steadily improving since surgery. I am going to try a facial massage for the first time in my life. Dr. DS approved it, told me not to try acupressure, instead he asked me to try something light so as to improve blood flow and veinous drainage.
3. Wooden teeth feeling, hopefully no long term effects. I have to live with your advise and take the pill of patience!
Thanks!
