I have braces for the third time because my upper jawbone was not as strong as most, and not long
after my MMA surgery, it unfortunately moved back just enough to cause an occlusion of my front
teeth (that is, they directly hit each other instead of overlapping). That, combined with the
fact that the TMJ I prevously had (fixed by having braces the *second* time) has returned
with a vengeance, which I understand often occurs in patients who previously had TMJ.

Still, I have no regrets about having the MMA surgery, (as my RDI is 4.8 now)...and besides,
what's another couple more years in braces? Nothing really.....
