Things are getting better for 2 months now. I wake up in the morning rested with an average of 6 hours of sleep, which mean that before I was also trying to sleep too much!!! I'm very active all day long without fatigue or sleepiness, but I take a significant drugs cocktails including antidepressant... Am I depressed or not? I've been probably and the fact that the surgery did not provide the expected results did not help.

So the morning I take of 200mg of providgil and 150 mg of bupropion XL and the evening 100 mg of trazodome ... I will continue this for the next 6 to 9 months and then I plan on stopping using drugs gradually. In addition I am taking allergy drugs because actually I am quite allergic and I never discovered this before! Finally, I have an ALF (see http://www.alforthodontics.com/index.htm) which in the long term should help me because it should expand a little my upper palate, allowing my tongue to better position itself and increase the respiratory flow between the nose and throat. It is an osteopathic approach that work really well for my daughter as a jaw is only cartilage and I have since met some adults that got significant benefits from that. It is slower for adults, does not provide the same benefits as for a kids, but it has help some. It does not hurt to try and it is less invasive than a surgery, so I am trying. I would definitely recommend this approach with kids instead of the butterflies.

I almost forgot to say that I am still using my CPAP most nights but not every night ... I realized that during a 3 day weekend where I forgot to take it. I was good during the day but I felt more tired at night and for example that I could not drive during the 4 hours we need between Tahoe and the Bay area. With all this I still not dreaming much so there is still some way to go....

I will possibly go for other surgeries in the future (tongue: radiofrequency, genioglossus advancement, hyoid advancement, MME?) when I will stop my med and if by this time CPAP still help... I should not wait too long as the older I get the harder it will be ... but for now I want to enjoy my current condition!

BTW, I never regretted to have done the MMA as it improved my condition, I need less pressure with the CPAP, I can sleep some nights without it, It improved my profile ;-) but I do regret that my surgeon did not do the tongue advancement at the same time. I let him decide based on his long experience and he was probably right, but at least psychologically it would (have) help if he would have done it!
