I think your taxes will go up, but not by much. I doubt it will crash America's economy.

Personally, I think that there will be a big improvement, especially in terms of:

1. people who are being denied because of pre-existing conditions or unlucky DNA.

2. people who are unlucky and get hit with a few things - cancer, a heart attack and get hit by a car in the span of five years.

3. the whole "find the loophole game" that insurance industry plays to disqualify people who made clerical errors, etc. As you know, this game increases their profits because they can keep the premiums that the poor fellow paid but not man-up to paying for the care.

You know, there is a big scare about the word "socialist". Socialist means communist, right? The idea is that the Soviet Red Army is going to pull into town or something. But there are lots of great examples of people who work in the public sector for the good of Americans. Is you kid's education "socialized"? Would you like her teacher to be outsourced to private education company that would bid on this year's contract? I suggest you not be afraid of this rhetoric bandied about by pundits. Most pundits are in the pockets of these big companies.
