EJY: Even though we've already talked at length about this, I thought it would make sense to repeat some of it for the benefit of other readers.

My sleep improved more than yours from the start, but it changed to a pattern like you describe. I sleep pretty well for the first 4 hours, then wake completely refreshed. I do NOT get up but fall back asleep between 15-30 min later. Then I wake up after every cycle (every hour or so) for another 4 hours. At first this freaked me out, but since I feel restored during the day, it's fine.

I slept elevated for probably a year post surgery. I don't remember exactly how long. It helped my sleep. But I eventually quit and have been sleeping on my side flat since then. My MMA surgery was 4.5 years ago.

I usually awake from an apnea if I sleep on my back, but it does work sometimes for a while. So, I sleep on my side.

I consider myself cured, but I ended up with onset insomnia, I guess from the years of being choked to death. So I take 1/2 of a small ambien to get to sleep. It has worked for years and has no other side effects for me. The cost is about $8 per month. So, I'm resigned to using it, and happy it exists.

8 weeks is WAY early. You just had your archbars out a couple of weeks ago. Give it some more time.
