Thanks for mentioning the nail problem. It's good to (possibly) be able put a reason to what was happening to me.

I am reluctant to take any sleep pills but will discuss this with the doc when I see him this week. As for age, I'm 38. I will not take anti-depressants due to their likelihood of weight gain side effects. I have managed to keep my weight under control with considerable effort and do not want to introduce something which will make it harder to manage. Depression, feelings of hopelessness and lack of confidence are not only uncharacteristic of me, but are happening more often these days.

This may sound extreme but I will be discussing this with the doc. I have read about studies where OSA patients had blood drawn periodically throughout the night. The research found lower than normal testosterone levels. I will be discussing the idea of maybe supplementing low levels of testosterone with something like androgel for night usage, as a means to improve my daytime mood and maybe rescue the libido which has all but crashed.

I'm a little different, season-wise. I do very well in summer but winter is coming here (I'm in Australia). Frequency of toilet visits have increased to a point where I wake every 3 hrs. I'm reluctant to discuss this with the doc as he'll probably just ask me to drop the trousers as he snaps on the latex gloves for the old prostate exam. X-o
