Finally left an ENT and just as i had thought, it was wires in top mandible alittle right of nose that has become irritated and infected. I can feel that this wire bundle seems to want to push thru the skin (velum?) up there, and it is SORE, and was the firdst area to get sore. Now it is whole left side of face. He suggested going back to MMA surgeons (NO WAY) and taking wire (s) out. I have had some gums trying to erode lately and give pain, maybe some bacteria made it to the bulging wire pack. Part of not sleeping is slow healing/proneness to infections. The pain and lack of ability to open jaw is very similiar to post op mma. I am very worried (more worried now) about getting braces and how another mma would feel. I wish i knew what the braces Dr LW requires of me before the mma redo are supposed to do. If they are to cause an over-bite, im not sure i could stand it. If they are just to fix everything in place, that may not be so bad.
rtwithosa, may want to research my case. My upper mandible was not moved. Apnea is still bad and my voice is severe hypernasal. Velopharyngeal incompetence which gives a cleft palate voice. i had an early UPPP before mma which is a no no. They dont help most, and may even icrease osa. It didnt help apnea at all, but didnt hurt voice. So i have to go to a world specialist to have a mma redo with 4 other rocedures to try and fixs voice. BCBC wont cover it as the dr is out of network.
