Firstly , hang tuff. Hard for me to say as i contemplated the "S" word just this Monday and do not know why the hell I keep on going. One more bad thing, and i may be done. I most likely am the worst result on this board with severe hypernasality and no sleep relief post MMA, with previous LAUP. Short term , Id suggest some strong "dont care' meds like xanax or trazodone..I really dont agree that they are contraindicated for osa folks. Presently you dont know your result fully...the tissues will settle down. All the voice changes ive read about here , except mine, and what I just read with Captain Cannuck, have gone back to normal. This from what ive seen on this board for 10 years. After my LAUP, I lost any ability to make certain sounds like are required in Arabic or German...but it was a bothced MMA that took it out for good. I doubt your throat will stay as dry. Know too that you now will be scarlet lettered as far as other docs go. They most likely will take your money and send you home with Mucinex or something. They will stick together and give you much double talk. I spent thousands before I found the right one and still am too scared to get an MMA redo, and it will cost me $45K or so as Bleu Cross Double Cross wont cover certain surgeons. The LAUP really ought to be investigated. Hang tuff man and follow the wisdom youll find on this board. And know also that virtually no one will understand your plight,save this board.
