I had this done about 3 years ago and it has changed my life for the better. I was also worried about that. But I had no problem even with the massive swelling. My wife and father came into the recovery room and ran out crying. I laugh at this now but then it freaked me out at the time. From recovery to the ICU, I had this horrible orderly transporting me and kept shaking the bed and rotating it. I felt like I was on a boat and got dizzy. Once in the room I threw up right thru my wired teeth all over this awesome nurse. I kept trying to apologize and he was great about it. So I figured if I can throw up, I can breath fine. It is a decision not to take lightly but I would do it all again in a heartbeat, my wife who took care of me for 6 weeks might have another opinion. Good luck
