I am really sorry about all your sleep problems. I’ve heard many individuals who’ve had the UPPP surgery which only made their apnea worse. Overaggressive removal of palatal tissue can results in nasopharyngeal stenosis – a narrowing of the airway due to scar tissue development. I suggest you not waste your time seeing these doctors and go straight to Stanford Sleep Disorders Clinic in Redwood City, CA. They are highly knowledgable in sleep disorders. Specifically, ask to see Dr. Christian Guilleminault. Also, visit Dr. Kasey Li in East Palo Alto. He is an excellent surgeon may suggest a salvage procedure such as MMA.
