I too agree that RDI is only a part of the picture and I can also understand that the seeing the same number pre and post MMA could be discouraging.

For those of you who have have pre and post sleep studies with that MMA in the middle, what are your numbers. Mine went from the mid 60's with apneic events which had me choking, gasping for air drowning, and flailing to 12-13 following the MMA. Of course most were hypopneas on the initial study, and all were hypopneas on the post.

I wonder if there is any relationship between how high the RDI is initially and what kind of reduction an MMA offers. I realize we'd be talking at an anecdotal level here.
