I also have general anxiety and was on lexapro when I had my surgery. A short time after the surgery I stopped taking the lexapro to see if there would be a change in my anxiety level. Within 12 months my anxiety was back and I am treating it once again. I am sleeping great so I know that my anxiety was not caused by my apnea, it is caused by a chemical imbalance. It sounds like you may have had a life changing event that might have caused your anxiety. If this is the case maybe the better sleep will be just what you need. However if you have a chemical imbalance then you may need to stay on the lexapro. I do not know if this is of any help to you but I understand how you feel. Good luck in your continued recovery.
