The concept of tongue base reduction was part of a discussion when I was consulting with my surgeon about other alternatives to an MME. His procedure would not have been robotic. When he stated that he had more confidence in the outcome of an MME than with tongue reduction because he had more control of the procedure, my choice to go forward with the MME was a no brainer. To this day the combo of MMA plus MME has been a winning one for me.
