Thanks for the posts, my MMA was done by Dr. LW in Dallas and I have read many good things about him and I know from experience that he is knowledgeable and caring. I also consulted with the top two surgeons in CA before choosing L.W. but decided L.W. because he took the time to do cephlometric measurements and show me using my x-rays what he planned on doing.
This process took approx an hour and he told me I would need ortho treatment before the surgery and there was a chance I might have problems with my TMJ's after the surgery but he said the MRI showed they were both in good shape, plus I never had any problems like this before.
Post MMA my awakenings have diminished as well as my urge to urinate frequently at night, however if I don't sleep initially for more than four hours, read and then try to get a couple more hours in. However I can barely move my jaw from side to side and open my mouth apprx. 25mm or enough to slide a medium size grape in there.
I allready spent alot of money out of pocket for the MMA and now am looking at spending almost the same for TMJ articular disc suspension using the Mitek anchor system.
Anyway if you know of anything similiar I would like to know your experience and thanks for listening.
