Well, after years of following this forum, undergoing UPPP, pillar procedure, RD on tongue, TAP and nose surgery, I went ahead with MMA. I am 40 yrs old, healthy but have had bad apnea my whole life.
I had severe anxiety of waking after the surgery and being banded shut, but it was never an issue.
Things have gone well. Face still looks like a chipmunk, no feeling in roof of mouth and teeth, but, I am actually sleeping!
My face looks different, not happy with it right now, BUT, swelling is still bad.
Never really had much pain. I take pain meds at night to help me sleep.
I am wired shut, but am sleeping. No regrets!
Will keep everyone posted.
