Just did a web lookup on the Puresleep, and it looks like all the other jaw retaining devices out there, which all keep your jaws closed.

The contraption I use holds the jaw pieces apart by about an inch, so the vertical separation should hold it into place better than closed jaw devices. Mind you, everybody's anatomy is different, so YMMV.
