I have had my 5th sleep study in as many years. I am mad because they should have nullified it. I took 2 hours to fall asleep and only sleep alitttle over 5 hrs. And none of it was on my back. I had 51 snore arousals and 0 time past stage 2. They said BCBS would pay for another study and i called and they wont, but that i must rent a oximeter and sleep at home to get some numbers and theyll go from there. Well, I have my own oximter and get this, i went into a dream and the oximeter alarm went off with a reading of 84%. I may try again tonight and set trigger point even lower , but isnt this some low oxy levels! i will be anxious to see what the rented unit that records will give. It is lower than any sleep study has revealed and proof that your more apt to deep sleep, thus apna more in comfort of your home. In other words, apna is worse at home. This batched sleep study could really put my plans for more surgery/other planning , in jeopardy. Would you guys be upset at such a study?
