Why snoring disappear w. infection?

I've lived w. my hubby's snoring for many yrs; the other wk, the snoring disappeared completely when he was diagnosed w. bronchitis; now that his bronchitis is disappearing the snoring is returing. anyone have any ideas as to why and how to keep him snore-free w/out prompting constant throat infection? Thnx.
