he's operated on, and for references. All surgeries depend on

The range of recovery times varies quite a bit, so it's impossible
to predict how much time you'll need. My recovery (I'm one
month out) has been relatively easy, and I could have gone back
to work after 3 or even 2 weeks if necessary. But I'm still tired,
and it would have been a tough experience. A lot of people have
a much more difficult time; you also probably won't be able to
talk or eat, which further complicates things.

My company offers short term disability insurance. That might
be worth looking into if at all possible.
