Posted by often_awake on March 02, 2011 at 07:52:37:Actually, 5 weeks and a day, but who's counting?
The unfortunate news I have to report is that my sleep seems to have completely disintegrated. I had my arch bars out, but there's been no progress; things are markedly worse. It's a struggle to sleep 4 hours. I wake up every hour, and after a while, I just give up. This is the same issue I had before the surgery. In fact, I would say that things are worse than before the surgery.
Perhaps it will get better, but I do not believe that this is a simple matter of giving things time. I cannot breathe at all through my left nostril, so maybe my turbinates are part of the problem. Will consult with Dr KL soon to see what he recommends. I need to do something, but I'm not sure what.
As far as the recovery itself, it's been a breeze. I haven't really had any significant pain since the first week, and were it not for my lack of sleep, I would feel absolutely fine. Significant numbness in my upper teeth; mild numbness in my chin. No problems talking or anything like that.
Thanks for reading, and to everyone who responded to my previous posts.
