Yes, thank you for the information Sandman. I am not really sure if I had REM rebound or not but from what I've read about new cpap user's experiences on other OSA message boards, I'm pretty sure I experienced it. Many new cpap users feel worse when they first try cpap i.e. more tired, fatigued and sleepy. If they stick it out, they will gradually begin to feel better. When I started out using it at my titrated setting I felt sooo tired and fatigued during the daytime. I barely mustered the energy to shower and dress myself. I was really worried and skeptical and since my doctor did not forewarn me about REM rebound, I did not know what to expect. I started to notice a difference around the one month mark and am improving daily. The bottom line is, it may take some people several months to feel noticeably improved.
