I agree with the way you look at it. In fact, the way you look at it is 100 percent correct. As we age, everyone's airway deteriorates somewhat.
You say the procedure might buy you some time. I think that it would be a good idea to study *how much* time it buys. If people know that information, they can make a more rational decision. For example, if it turns out that it buys a guy twenty-five years, he might calculate that it is worthwhile. If it buys a guy five years, he might think that it is not worth the trouble. All I am saying is that we should not be afraid to look at change over time. I also think that people should be willing to come forward if they have not had a positive experience.
By the way, from what I know, people are fine after five years. I am not trying to suggest that the results don't last, but just that we should know what happens after ten years and fifteen years too. Some people are young (e.g. in their thirties) when they get this procedure, and those people need to know what happens long term.
