Anyone else noticed that real life seems less important in the weeks leading up to surgery? After years of phase 1 surgeries, I'm taking the MMA plunge in Boston on May 3, and I'm finding myself disengaging from the last semester of grad studies in anticipation. It just seems so big. Not the surgery, but the potential. Even the prospect of not being connected to the wall, not being run down, and getting back my spirit seems like heaven.
This forum has been extremely valuable in making my decision, so now I'm turning to you again for insight. I don't want to prolong my break from reality by disengaging early, so how do I remain focused till the big day?
