My Epiglottis contributes to my sleep apnea, though it's primarily my tongue
and soft palate. I asked Dr R who performed my sleep endoscopy if that could
be why I wasn't successful with using the CPAP and he did not think it was
the case. (I think it was because my epiglottis is normal sized, not floppy,
but my airway is narrow).

I would advise you to try the CPAP first because you can always go off it if
it doesn't work. Otherwise definitely *research and consider* a surgical
alternative.
