choosing a MMA surgeon

I'm trying to understand why there is a difference in MMA surgeries (apnea vs other reasons) if both move the jaw 10 mm?

A local surgeon said he/his group do about 25/yr but haven't done any specifically for apnea. The Mayo surgeon guessed that he's done 60 for apnea.

If both move the jaws forward 10 mm what is the difference?
