Hi, My husband had MMA surgery in early October, he was wired shut for 6ish weeks. 3 weeks ago he noticed his lower jaw moving to the right (crossbite). The Dr recommended he go a revision which we just did last week. They took out a wisdom tooth, and replaced his existing plate with a longer one (looks like it goes all the way to chin on his right side.

Right now he's having issues i.e. shooting pains where the plate is, and the jawline is sore / painful. I've been on his pain meds Percocet and he's taking amoxicillin throughout.

I'm inclined to think the nerves are regenerating, but would like those that have been through this to please comment.

Also, what's the recovery period till he goes back to 'normal'?
