I am now past 18 days on my MMA operation. Most of the swelling on my face has subsided. My surgeon had removed the rubber bands from my mouth 3 days ago. I can open my mouth now, but unable to chew on food as the arc bar is still inside my mouth. I have to continue to stay on soft food until the Doctor remove the arc bar as well as the stitches in another 10 days time.

There is still numbness around my chin and lower lips but Doctor say the sensation will slowly come back in a few weeks time. I started to do acupuncture around this area as I hope this will speed up the recovery.

In term of sleep, good news. I have managed to sleep more soundly yesterday night without my CPAP in an inclined position. My snoring is much much lesser in this Position and I felt that I had sufficient sleep yesterday night. Doctor say that there might still be some blockage due to arc bar in my mouth but I am quite happy after yesterday sleep experience. Will be monitoring the next few nights to see if sleeping in the inclined position will help.

That's all for now.
