It's so critical to pick the right surgeon.

As for advancement. There are limitations that can not be seen until they get in there. Mine was limited by the thickness of the max bones. Still, my surgeon did the best he could with what he had. He was focused like a laser on getting my airway open so I could sleep, and he did.

I have permanent nerve damage too. A small numb spot on my lower lip. This is common from what I can tell.
