The reputation of sleep apnea surgery at Stanford
was achieved by the collaboration of four
physicians. Dr. CG, the sleep physician who first
described obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and
Drs. NP, RR, KL, surgeons who were trained in both
ENT and maxillofacial surgery. These surgeons
have published and lectured world wide. No other
surgeons at Stanford have the same qualifications.

Some surgeons choose to provide the best care
possible, which include seeing patients on the
weekends and evenings, including giving out their
own cell phone number to patients after surgery.

The care of sleep apnea patients following surgery
is predicated on close VISUAL observation and
communication DAILY for any signs of airway
obstruction and NOT by iphone!

The surgeon has the power to influence how his or
her patients are being taken care of. The
institution doesn’t make the surgeon, the surgeon
makes the institution.
