Thanks 2003nc...Yes it was botched. If you can, it would be best if youd look for old post as ive covered it ad-nauseum on here. But the skinny-i will never know what happened. First thing i noticed was my two front teeth were chipped. My tongue was closer to my front teeth, and my voice was hair lipped with a pitch change. It took 3 days before even one of the surgeons visited, and he didnt look anyone in the eye. I went all over the Southeast getting lied to for about 3 years and finally got the truth after leaving the Southeast and a Baylor Dr looked at my pre and post op cephs and found that my jaws wernt moved forward at all. The surg team here in Birmingham denied even having my pre op ceph. On a whim, i just walked in after about 4 years, and asked the office lady for it. Sure enough , they had it, and i got it. When i do speak, it is in falsetto, or compensatory in nature. I wore teenage braces and headgear that mashed my upper mandible back. That is most likely what caused my small airway to begin with. I figured that out on my own, and 2 dr freinds agree with me (off the record,of course). I have been told that Dr S in California has seen cases like mine and hold some hope that he could help one day.
