I tried calling Calsleep 4 times in a 2 week
period and never got a call back. Maybe its for
the best, I just cant imagine another mma and all
the money itd take. Regarding my op, yes itll all
be done at once. I asked the phys assistant about
any voice changes and she was kinda flat about
offering info. My idea is that perhaps the surg
will tweak the procedure so it wont feminize the
voice. Actually he said it may help the resonance.
I dont know what the transgender op is, if its the
same, or what. He wont be seeking to help my
voice, only help the airway. Now it will open the
door for possible injections to build up the
pharyngeal flap OR perhaps a pharyngoplasty. If
those were done now, itd kill me as airway would
be shut way off. The bummer is, without a mma
redo, my resonance will never be what it was.
Remember, i got jerry Lewis resonance and the
inability to seal off my nose (hypernasality), so
the voice got botched in 2 ways post mma.
The 3 procedures seem kinda simple. Its just
removing tissue and tightening it up and removing
the arytenoids thereby adding firmness to the
airway right at and above the vocal chords. It
doesnt seem near as macabre as an MMA, but hell if
im not scared to death. I cant psychologically
take any more bad effects. I cant find anything
about this being done for OSA. He is supposed to
do about 1 a month for it. An ENT i personally
know hasnt even heard of it. Am i a fool!!??
I have visited 3 big dogs at UAB Kirkland Clinic.
Back in 2002 i saw the speech pathologist,
recently the oral surg, Dr PW, and now the ENT.
Im hoping that they all may have talked about me.
They are all professors, except the speech Dr. If
nothing else, they have my records at their
fingertips. Again...am I stepping into something
here?!
