You're welcome. If you google "transoral robotic surgery for sleep apnea", you'll see more helpful links.
As for the experience, it was sort of similar to my experience with UPPP, but slightly less painful. Anytime you swallowed something (whether that's just your own saliva), there's quite a bit of soreness during the 1st week unless you take some strong pain meds. So you want to be taking some fairly strong pain meds to manage the pain/soreness the 1st wk or two. (vicodin, lortab, oxycodone, etc). But if you take the meds, you'll be ok. You're basically taking liquids and soft foods the 1st couple of wks. There's ofcourse the discomfort in swallowing anything solid. There's also some swelling that occurs that constricts/narrows the size of the throat for the 1st wk or two and makes it difficult to swallow anything large or solid. But it wanst that big of a deal. Just stock up on lot's of liquid meal replacement drinks, protein shakes, fruit juices, soups, etc. (I personally enjoyed soymilk mixed with a bit of heavy cream. It really soothed my throat when I drank it).
The surgery itself was an outpatient procedure. You have it in the morning and if everything goes smoothly and you're recovering ok, you're released in the afternoon. (Ofcourse you need someone to pick you up and drive you home since it's a full general anaesthetic surgery. You're still kinda groggy from the general anaesthetic and there's no way you're able to drive home by yourself).
