Gremlin,

After several weeks of constant tests, the head pulmonoligest (spelling?) at a teaching hospital told me and my wife....Trach or die.

That was 19 years ago and I am now going stronger than ever, yep, still have the trach.

So far there are only two things which I cannot do and I miss that

Can't swim under water (I lived on the beach as a kid)

Can't empty a bottle of Coke, just cannot raise my head high enough without the trach shaft touching me and starting a cough jag. (My tube is extra long, not so common)

I no longer drink soda so that is no problem but I do really miss swimming.
