Posted by David on January 11, 2001 at 13:53:12:Time is getting close, and the apprehension grows. After reading other messages, I wonder if I'm jumping the gun.
My wife has complained about my extremely loud snoring and in additon, I have been told (by my wife and roommates in college) that I stop breathing at night. These are but two of the classic symptoms I display.
My quandry is that no actual sleep study was done. When the ENT doctor (military hospital) examined me, he told me that he didn't believe one was necessary because of the deviated septium (I've never been able to breathe from the nose much) and that I had such classic syptoms. This doctor has performed nearly 1000 UP3 and Septoplasty surgeries.
I would appreciate opinions of people out there. Do you feel that I'm rushing into surgery? I am not looking forward to the pain, but I know in the long run, it will pass. I am 40 years old and about 30 lbs overweight. I have also seen different thoughts on having all done at one time versus seperating the surgerys. Any additional thoughts/recommendations?
Sorry about the desperate sound of this message, but I am a little wound tight right now with work and the upcoming surgery.
Thanks,
David
