If you can get a sypathetic doc to write a script for an o2 sat meter (the kind that makes a recording of the events) and use it for a few days to show large desat problems, that may be all the doctor needs to see. I had to promise to pay for this myself before a doc would write the script and I think it cost 60 or 80 bucks for the week.

They are easy to use as they just clip on your finger. This is not an accurate test for sleep apnea or the severity thereof but will provide a very strong argument for further testing.
