I know it gets boring, but lots of cold/refrigerated water helped me get past my uppp. However, I also needed that for the pain, since I chose not to take any pain meds after the first day. One of the first "foods" I ate was refrigerated peach slices in light syrup-they just slide down.
As I recall, i ate very little "normal foods" until the 3rd or fourth week. It is true that we all heal at different rates, but as a final thought you may want to check with the doctor about how to diagnose an allergic reaction to the prescribed antibiotic-this has been reported in previous posts.
