Tracey - good luck. I had the UPPP & Septoplasty on Oct. 19th. Got very nervous the last 2 days b4 surgery but went through with it. I work Mon/Fri, 8 am to 5 pm, and was off work a total of 18 days including all weekends. I was on prescription pain meds for 15 of those days with the last 2 tapering down. I could probably have gone in on the last Friday, but didn't want to & didn't have to push it. I'm glad I had surgery - sleep is significantly improved. I am 48, but in decent, not great shape, & didn't have the tonsillectomy (had that about age 10). With child care, etc. I think you may be pushing to get back to work on day 10. I'd try to get the Dr. & HR involved to cover a more extended recovery time. Don't forget that the pain meds prescibed indicate that while taking them you are not allowed to drive.
Again, good luck & best wishes. - Kevin
