Genioplasty

Has anyone had it? How effective is it? Is it the same as a GA? Has anyone had problems getting it approved by insurance? I am needing as much info as I can for my husband who has been told he needs it. He can not tolerate the CPAP. They tried him with it over a couple months with different masks to see if a different mask would help. The apnea improved but the amount of sleep didn't with all the problems of panic attacks he had. He has severe OSA, underweight, and his tongue is the odstruction. Any info is appreciated!!!!
