Is Cpap the big apnea lie?

Posted by bunboy on April 08, 2001 at 19:00:22:

I know they work for most people and not some so this is not intented to cast aspertions on cpap. My question is are people really really using them and ifn notn whats the point. Most eveybodyI know oin person, like four people my friehnds who have them all confess they don't use them at all or at least with any regularity and then lie to their doctors.
I am starting to suspect this may be the point for most people. Maybe not on this gourp because these are the achievers with extra intersest in the subject but I wonder how may people have them just sitting around the house unused. I am having a tracheostomy in a week because I couldnt handle cpap but all my frineds offered to let me try theirs to see if it was less noisy, less claustrpphobic or whatever. I would ask how can I try yours what will you do and the reply alsways the same ah it is too much of a pain I don't use. Kind of sad really given the seriousness of the problem. Not really doctors fault either. If people gonn a lie to docts what canyou do. So what do you all think cpap the next lava lamp?
