I think that people lying about CPAP compliance is yet another symptom of the standard of care in today's (for profit) healthcare system. Sometimes people lie to their doctors so that they can tell that particular doctor what he or she wants to hear in order to get a referral to a more specialized level of care. Sometimes patients get so discouraged trying to get the care that they need it seems easier to just lie. Sometimes it IS the doctor's fault--if the doctor says of course CPAP works, there must be something wrong with YOU.
