I can't comment on tonsillectomy - had mine at about age 9, but had septoplasty and UPPP in October of last yr. I was diagnosed with moderate apnea & desaturated down to mid 80's on oxygen. After surgery results were no oxygen desaturation, and events down to 9 per hour when sleeping on my side. My life is significantly improved, and I'm consulting with the ENT to determine best way to proceed to get events down to "normal". For at least some of us who are XPAP intolerant surgery does help. Good luck, & take your pain meds on time.
