First, life doesen't suck. Pap and masks may, but not life. It is reasonable that you might not know that, because apnea sufferers do not get a clear view of life. Life as you know it is entirely different from that experienced by those who sleep.

Regarding surgery, all of your questions are answered in the forum, and the search engine will help you quickly learn about the various procedures.

The real deal on pap, is that if it is properly set up for you, you will take to it like a fish to water. And if it isn't, you will never tolerate it.

It is essential to properly define your condition. If you have any central apnea, no surgery will help, and a bi level pap with a timed backup is in your future. If there are no centrals, only obstructive, then the sure fife surgery, the only guaranteed surgery is the trache. Those who have one generally love it. Search for stoma, and button.

All of the other surgeries are iffy. The uppp deals with the nose and palate. It will work if that is the site of your obstruction. It hardly ever is, and hardly ever works for apnea, but does have many other advantages.

Tne dental devices, hyoid advancement, tongue suspension, and mma all deal with creating more space in your throat. Search for Stanford, the place claimed to be the leader in these procedures. Also, search for somnoplasty, and go to their website.

BTW, you will be successful. In spite of the start up problems, is does get better.
