As far as the time in explaining things, you also have to take the time in more detail in what you are doing, do so in the cpap forum and also go to sleep disorders newsgroup.
What type of mask are you wearing for one. The nasal pillows are what most of us like, the breeze seems to be the best, but you only get one mask and you got it already so you would probably have to buy it.
I am not as home but at my brother house so I cannot access my email from home. I used cpap for over 2 years but it knocks out my deep sleep. I have had some surgery with no luck so far and trying opap (dental device that the hose is connected to your mouth and the air go into your mouth) now which to me is harder than the cpap.
You did not mention what pressure you are at either. Get a complete copy of your sleep study which you are entitled to.
I know the frustation but it takes time to learn. You have to look at what is bothering you and then with suggestions and changes things can get better.
I don't know about the air as it seems only a few had problems with that. Do a search on this website for that and also on deja.com for it because some on the sleep disorders might have mentioned that and solutions.
As far as the surgery you might have to have several in order for it to work and that takes time. The GA genioglossus is the tongue advancement where they cut the muscle in front of the tongue and bring it forward and use two screws to hold it in place, take out the tonsils and cut part of the throat tissue, that is one operation. Then the MMA jaw advancement, break upper and lower jaw and bring them forward, and then radiofrequency to the tongue to shrink it. Each of this operations takes recovery time and several months after the operation they do a sleep study to see the results before they move on to next operation so that it why it takes time.
