Please don't despair. Most of us know how you feel. I won't advocate surgery as the best option, you have to make that decision for yourself. It's the route that I've chosen. I'm 2 weeks post op from MMA. I had UPPP, Septoplasty and Turbinectomy in in 1999. I also had a temporary Trach last fall. If you can make CPAP work, it's the least invasive. The biggest problem with CPAP is non compliance, for whatever reason. I couldn't tolerate it and spent more time awake using it. There is pain with surgery but that's why they give us pain meds. Pain is temporary.
The important thing is to educate yourself and reading these forums will certainly be helpful.
Good luck with your decisions and keep us posted, whatever you decide.
OK, so I tried not to advocate surgery.
