frank, you keep giving dental appliances W-A-Y to much credit. According to my doc, dental appliances open up the airway at the tongue-level only so much. A few millimeters and therefore NOT a very good indicator of whether a GA or an MMA will work. Not a good comparison at all. I can support this in my own experience. I've tried couple of different dental appliances which did absolutely nothing for my apnea. Yet my recent genioplasty/hyoid suspension surgery made a significant difference in reducing my apnea.
