Trach and Oxygen

Posted by bunboy@home.com on May 23, 2001 at 18:45:05:

Have had a trach now for about a month and things are going just fine but I am doing one thing against my doctors orders. He wants me at night and when I have the time during the day to use oxygen and the humidifier attatched to it. Someitmes I do it but most of the time I don't. I actually just don't get why I need it? It just seems to loosen up the sploogey which makes it more annoying and harder to sleep and breath.
I am having little or no secretions(i.e. sploogey) and breathing is doing great so is sleeping. Anyone know anything about this one way or the other? Am I going to trach hell for this violation or is it no big deal?
