what to do????

Posted by indianscountry on May 23, 2001 at 21:46:29:

hi,
a year ago I had the uppp, turb., septoplasty done. at the time my rdi was 56, now it is 98. I choke all night long. My pulmanary doc says that I am in "end stage" sleep apnea because I have a thickened heart wall, abnormal rythems when I sleep (found on sleep study), decreased lung function, high blood pressure, and so on. the problem I have is that I have tried for two years to get used to the cpap, I've tried all the mask, humidifiers, etc. and I just can't use it. well the doc says i should consider a trach. She said there was no more she can do for me as a pulanary doc. Thats a tough decision, I know if I want to live either get use to the cpap, or trach. any advice. thanks sorry so long.
